Solutions from My Ancestors for Everyday Health Problems

Click to Buy Now

My name is Juanita Holaday and I come from a long line of natural healers that has a rich ancestry and professional practice going back over 500 years. These are spiritual healers who maximize full energetic potential, the energy from Mother Earth, the herbs, minerals, food, animals, birds, and the elements of the planet and God source energy.

This has always been the most powerful form of healing practice on what is now referred to as the American continent, that is, until about 150 years ago, when businessmen decided to control and profit from the healing industry. Since then, there has been an aggressive movement organized by the powers that be (we call them the powers that wanna be) to do anything and everything to discredit the healing practices of my ancestors, but Natural Alternative Specialists have persisted and dared to continue to offer these ancient practices to our people, the people who depend on and believe that these natural alternatives are a far better way to heal themselves, without having to take prescriptions that include chemical elements which are not known to the body, or surgeries for problems which have natural solutions that reverse and solve complaints which are rooted in the body, the mind, and the spirit.

I am not saying that we do not need doctors and hospitals, as they are necessary and we are blessed to have them, and we definitely believe in referring our believers to the emergency room for life-saving procedures that we would be hard-pressed to provide solutions for, but up until 250 years ago, we were it. We had to do it all. There was no other place to go. We love the life-saving equipment and procedures provided by the hospitals, though we are not of the same mind regarding the chemical treatment, but if our patients survive the treatment, we can help them regain their health naturally after the medical intervention.

For 500 years, we have been here. We haven’t been gone, and we are not going anywhere. We are still here to serve our people in the ways they want to approach their health and wellness. That’s why I felt like I had to write the book, Solutions from My Ancestors for Everyday Health Problems. My people have been asking me to do this for a long time.

Not only does my book honor the generations of healers that went before, especially my mother. My practice as a Natural Alternative Specialist is in honor of my mother, a heroic woman who used her abilities to serve others in the best way she could, and I want to do that, too. My mother’s work did not end with her life, her work goes on with me, and this is her legacy. With every person who studies with me and gets certified as a Natural Alternative Specialist, her work goes on and continues to heal thousands of people, and the people we serve have the health and happy long life they always wanted.

In my book, you don’t just find the same old list of herbs and what they are commonly used for, though there are some herbs that I list in there, the key is to show you how our people are best served by Natural Alternative Specialists. This is a fresh, new way of sharing this information with you.

Even though these sciences came before modern medicine and hospitals, they are in no way “old” and no longer relevant. In fact, I think you will discover that the old ways are better than the new ways, in many ways, in lots of ways (that was a lot of ways).

It is my hope that you will read my book, and be inspired to live a better life with much more Mother Nature and a lot less complicated chemistry. I think you will find that you have everything you need to live your best life and manage your own health and well being with the power of your mind, body, and soul with the help of all the natural substances that have been provided to you in nature, and God source energy.

Knowing what Herbs to Grow

Know what you want to grow in your garden and what you want to grow in potted plants because some herbs grow back each year.
But others don’t and have to be planted every year.
It also depends on what you cook more of, like if you cook a lot of Mexican foods then it would be more convenient to grow, cilantro, oregano, jalapenos, onion, garlic, and cumin.
Depending on the kind of foods you cook you would plant your herbs to have on hand.
The next thing would be to check your herbs and see if they are the kind that needs a lot of suns, and do they grow back each year or do you need to replant them every year.
One can stay in your garden or be planted in a pot to be taken into the house when it starts to get cold.
Next, you need to decide if you want to start them already grown in small pots and then replant them when you get them home.
Or do you want to start from scratch which means you start by planting your seeds?
I always thought that you plant your seed and watch it grow.
But not all seeds are that way.
I had bought some seeds that the package said you need to have pure soil and it told you how to do it, I followed the instructions.
planted my seeds and they never grew.
So years later I found the packet of seeds from the plant that I tried to grow before and I have been hesitant to plant them because of what happened last time.
But we learn from our mistakes and I just need to plant them.
It is a lot easier now than it uses to be, now if I have a question about what I am doing I can go to the computer and look up the information and well be taught step by step.
So don’t be discouraged.
One very important thing to do before you start to plant your herbs is to loosen the soil so when you plant your plants and water the water drains better.
The roots of the plants can go deeper into the soil without any resistance.
If you add compost into the soil before you start planting and mix well and then plant it does a plant even better.
When it comes to watering your plants you should always check the dirt first, if it is still moist a few inches under the ground then you shouldn’t water.
wait for the next day or two.
You don’t want to overwater your plants because they will feel like you are drowning them.
They don’t feel well and start to turn yellow a sign of overwatering and start to get diseased.
So just make sure you water them when the soil feels dry, and don’t overwater.
It is always good to plant the herbs that have the same water requirements altogether, which will make it easier on you.

Remedies for Hangovers

Have you ever gotten so stupid drunk you couldn’t remember how the hell you got home?

where the keys to your car are?

How did you get into your pajamas? you have on.

Why do my knees hurt, and who the hell are you look?

So after the shock of were, hell am I then you get this very sharp pain in your head, upset stomach, and the list goes on.

What is good for a hangover once the fun is over?

Well, let’s start and see what causes hangovers and we just might learn what we should drink and what we shouldn’t.

When alcohol is broken down by the liver, acetaldehyde a toxic substance is formed.

It is from ethanol metabolism.

Which is formed from cheaper wines or spirits.

Which are the ones to avoid?

Whisky, cheap red wines, fruit brandy, and dark spirits.

Make sure that the bottle you chose does not have sulfites added, like clear spirits and quality red wines.

Organic is better quality.

More natural products are easier for your liver to break down.

There are two phases to avoid hangovers.

The first phase – Alcohol is turned into a less toxic enzyme known as cytochrome P450.

Thru a series of complex enzymatic pathways.

Free radicals that can be targeted by antioxidants, from a healthy person.

Indulging slightly makes our system more toxic than intended, which is more challenging for the liver.

The second phase – Liver cells add metabolites to produce in phase one to render them into water-soluble compounds to be excreted from the body safely.

In that way, it is not circulated in the bloodstream.

What can be done, some great herbs can tonify and strengthen within the liver.

Ginger – Is known for reducing nausea and settling an upset stomach stimulates the metabolism which enhances detoxification.

Turmeric – Has a direct effect on liver cells repairing and regeneration, also known for its inflammatory and pain relief.

Chlorella – Can repair tissues within the body including liver cells, removing pollutants from the body and supporting detoxification.

Mint – Is best known for digestion, but the strong menthol oils help with clarity, concentration, Boost energy, and nausea relief.

Fennel – This is great for easing nausea and indigestion, so make a tea and start feeling better now.

Chamomile – Tea is great for relaxing the mind, it can help with indigestion and headaches.

Parsley – Due to the high mineral and chlorophyll content it helps clear harmful acids from the body.

Menudo – Is the breakfast of champions with all its rich spices.

The way of the south is if you have gone drinking and wake up with a hangover.

You go to a Mexican restaurant and order this soup that you eat with hot corn tortillas and you add onion, you add cilantro, you can also add cabbage that is optional.

It is very good and satisfying you feel better by the time you are done.

All these herbs are good to help you to feel better.

I have one bonus for you and it is this if you start by taking one Tylenol before you start drinking you will not have a hangover.

But it all depends on each individuals metabolism,

What Are the Benefits of Fasting?

You have heard some people say “I am Fasting,” when you offer them a bit of food. Have you ever wondered if that is healthy for the body? If it is, then what are the benefits that help the body?

You would think that not eating would not be good because you are not getting the nutrients your body needs.

Let us weigh the difference and find out.

One of the benefits is that you can lose weight, by fasting every other day. This is known as intermittent fasting and helps you eat less because your body gets used to it, and in turn, helps with lowering blood sugar. Also, your body burns up more calories.

That does not mean that as soon as your fasting is done, you gorge yourself on food.

Did you know that if you take the time to taste your food and chew it properly, which means making sure it is well chewed before you take another bite, you will eat less?

By doing this, it gives the signal to the brain how good the food is, then the signal checks your stomach to see if it has reached its full level.

For example, have you ever watched a child eat? He eats as much as he wants, which to us is not much because we have stopped listing to our brain signals. some of us eat until we feel we are going to explode. If you work physically, having to move rapidly, you know you will burn the calories.

If you work where you hardly move, then it is best to eat less.

I have worked where you have to walk twelve-hour shifts and was hungry by the time I got home. Then, when I got hurt on the job and had to stay home, I still ate a lot, as if I was working. I started to gain weight fast.  So I started to cut back on my food intake. Drank more water to make up for the hunger I still felt.

When you are used to eating a lot and then cutting back, I understand it can be hard.

Fasting takes a strong will because it seems like when you decide to fast, everyone seems to bring the most eye-catching food that smells so good. Then they ask you if you would like some. But we have to remember our goal.

The health benefits that fasting brings to our bodies.

Helps the brain, think more clearly, it helps also with inflammation and helps your heart by lowering bad cholesterol.

The best part of fasting is it can help you live longer.

There are many different types of fasting methods out there, you need to choose the right one for you. It is best to research it.

You can ask your doctor which would be right for you.

It would be easier if you had a friend do this along with you to give each other encouragement, cheer each other on, especially in our weak moments. Having someone by your side makes a big difference.

Getting into Hot Water

Have you ever gotten home and feel tired achy and just want to relax and forget about your day? I have done that when I was younger, I filled the tub up with hot water relaxed, and fell asleep. What woke me up was my back started to get cold. When I reached for the covers I kept hearing water. Then I woke up to find myself in the tub. I told myself I would not do that again. But I did.

This time, I put the water as hot as I could stand, then got in, and at first, it felt great, but then I felt so weak it was hard for me to lift my arms to get out of the tub. It felt like I had heavy weights on my body. I dragged myself out of the tub so I could go to my room. It took all my strength to get on my bed and passed out. I woke up the next day, I never did that again. I had not drunk any alcohol and it could have been worse if I had.

So to me, hot showers are better, I learned my lesson.

With hot showers, you can relieve stiff muscles while you stand and let the hot water run on you for a few minutes. Roll your shoulders or massage your neck muscles let the water relax you and melt the tension of the day, let it fall like soap off your body.

When you have a cold and feel congested a nice hot shower helps get you breathing. The best way to do this is to get Vicks Vapor Rub and put it all over your chest. Get into the hot shower and just stand there for a few minutes, and when you start breathing easier, then it is time to get out of the shower. This should help you relax to the point you should be able to sleep a lot better.

Hot showers help people with migraines because it expands the blood vessels and gives you proper blood flow. That is why it is good for women who suffer from cramps, it brings relief.

So, just like cold water, hot water has its benefits too.

One doctor suggested that when you take a shower to keep going back and forth with the hot and cold alternatively. It benefits the body.

Cold water makes the blood rush faster to warm the core. So do this for a minute, then run the hot water as hot as you can stand it for a minute. Alternating between hot and cold water will expand the vessels and the blood will rush through. This helps the body pump the blood through all the muscles and organs which regenerates and detoxifies the body.

Also, doing this helps clean the pores on the body to help unclog dirt and oils that would be otherwise trapped, which brings healthier skin.

Wish I would have known this when I was a teen, it would have come in handy back in my day. I would have done that to take away acne.

Room Temperature or Ice Cold Water, Does it Matter?

Have you ever sat at a table, enjoying a tall glass of ice water and someone says “Drinking cold water is bad for you” but they do not tell you why? Well if it is refreshing and I am feeling satisfied what is wrong with it. Nothing is wrong with it. You are keeping your body hydrated and that is important.

Room temperature water is good, too. It does the same thing, keeps you hydrated, but one very interesting thing that caught my attention about room temperature water is that it is best to drink after a meal or at night before you go to bed.

Room temperature water helps digestion when you have had a large meal, to digest a lot easier, and you know that every little bit helps.

Coldwater is better to drink when you are working out. It helps the body cool down plus gives you that extra boost of energy you need for your workout.

Coldwater aids adrenalin production, so when you have a lack of motivation, reaching out for some cold water does a body good,

Drinking your room temperature water can cause you to drink less because you feel less thirsty which is not good.

When it comes to ice-cold water, your body wants more.

Now, let me ask you another question,

“Does it make a difference if you take a shower in cold or hot water?”

Most people shower to keep clean and do not think about the health benefits that a shower can give you.

Let us start with cold water first. To me, the thought of a cold water shower is not even in my thoughts or on my body for that matter, but cold water does have its advantages.

Coldwater has been around since the beginning of time, and many countries where they take a bath in cold water are healthier for it.

Taking a bath with cold water helps your blood circulation. What it does is make the blood circulate faster to keep your inner organs warm. The thought of taking a cold water bath would take a lot of balls if you are used to keeping them warm, but if it is healthier for you, would you do it?

If it helped make a difference in you, like boosting your energy, increasing your oxygen intake, and heartbeat. Best of all, it boosts your immune system. By trying to stay warm, the body increases the metabolic rate which, in turn, makes the body produce more white blood cells. This keeps your immune system in tip-top shape.

Another great way of getting out of your depression is to take a cold shower. A cold shower motivates, stimulates, and energizes your body, releases hormones that reduce depression. It shocks your brain into happiness. LOL!

Have you ever just wanted to stand in the shower, and it feels so good? But with the hot water, it dries your skin out, which is not good. Cold water actually helps the skin and moisturizes instead.

So, the next time you decide to take a cold shower, do it in the morning so it will wake you up and invigorate you before you go to work.

Prejudice Are We Born That Way?

Have you ever stopped to think about why some people are prejudiced and act this way? Have you wondered what someone did to this one person to hate everyone that looks or speaks like this person? Sadly, there are many persons who feel this way. They have treated others as low as insects! I would say animals but many animals are treated way better than the way some people treat each other.

Slavery

In our history books, we are taught at an early age about how people were treated as slaves all over the world and if you had slaves you were considered wealthy by the number of slaves you had. And I’m sure this happened all over the world and still does to this day. But we know it by different names. One that is very popular today is human trafficking.

Human Trafficking

They are taking our youths and selling them to the highest bidder in sex trafficking. Child labor is another, enslaving children to work and paying them under a dollar an hour or nothing at all. Even adult persons are not paid what they are worth in today’s labor.

Many owners of big companies talk down to persons that work in their establishment. Yes, they may be the owner of the company, but if it wasn’t for the workers doing their part, the owner would not have a company to run in the first place.

Treating people differently because of your position says a lot about you. If you are a fair person and you treat everyone with kindness and give compliments to all your employees and are observant of all of your workers from highest to lowest – (meaning just hired). You would have an amazing workforce.

Everyone likes to hear that they are doing a great job and that they are being noticed.

Management

Sadly, there are those who are put into management positions that they did qualify for but start to abuse it by treating people like slaves, threatening to get them moved to a different department, or fired.

I know many people when given a higher position, think everyone else is beneath them. Just because someone gives you a higher position, doesn’t mean you treat people wrong and abuse your position. I know many people that have been treated wrong by prejudiced people, yet have a big heart to forgive them.

Then there are those, like me, who do not keep quiet and speak out, because I’m tired of the stupidity that was taught to an innocent child, that people that do not look like us are evil. Or that people that do not speak like us are talking about us behind our back. putting that kind of ignorance in a child is beyond stupid!

We can make a difference in this world if we work together, not just in times of disasters, but also in times of peace.

Judgment

Just because one bad person did something really bad, doesn’t mean that all that race of those same people is all bad. Every race has its bad people. But it also has the people who do care and hate what the others do.

So, I ask all of you are you born a Racist! Or raised to be one?

Difference Between Nearsighted and Farsighted

There is a difference between nearsightedness and farsightedness, and unless you know the difference, you are likely to get them reversed.

Farsightedness

Hyperopia means you can see far away better than seeing things close up. This means the light falls behind the retina, not onto it. So if you are trying to read a book or look at something close up it is blurry. This could mean that you have a genetic birth defect, such as an eye lens that is not round enough or an eyeball that is too short.

Farsightedness is just an imperfect eye. I which it did mean I could see things clearly far away that would be awesome.

Nearsightedness

Myopia is when the light is not falling directly on your retina but in front of it. That is not being able to see far, like street signs from a distance are blurry to you. But reading a map or book is not, you can see. This also is caused by genetics and malformation of the eye.

They say one way to correct nearsightedness and farsightedness was with corrected lenses, but as soon as you took off your glasses or contact lens, they would go back to how they were, farsighted and nearsighted. That’s like putting a band-aid on a wound that needs stitches and putting another one once the first one didn’t hold properly. It is a temporary fix to a continual problem.

You know when you are tired of walking because your legs hurt you get off your feet for a while. If your arms hurt you give them a beak, your eyes never get a break even when they are irritated, red, and dry. Even when the rest of your body gets a break the eyes remain working because you are looking at your phone or computer, then go back to work and continue doing your job. Then when you get home you look at the television, the only time you give them to rest is at night when you sleep and hopefully, you don’t sleep with your eyes open.

Some exercise that you can do for your eyes is to take five- or ten-minute mini-breaks and look up from your computer or laptop, Give your eyes a break and look out a window or something far away and blink to moisten your eyes so that they don’t get dry, that will help your vision from becoming blurry while you are working. It keeps your eyes. refreshed.

Fennel is good for your eyes it helps because it has vitamins A and C you can use it as a wash for your eyes or drink it as a tea.

Passionflower is a great nerve relaxer and is known to relax eye vessels.

Gingko Biloba is an ancient herb that enhances the circulation around the back of the making sure there is enough blood circulating around the eye.

These are just a few herbs that were used long ago when natural remedies were very much used to fix what was needed to continue life, to soothe the elements that caused us hardships. It is all-natural and our bodies respond well to them. and still do!

Celebrate or Confiscate Cell Phones

I’m sure many of you have heard the saying “back in our day” we didn’t have cell phones, we were never called to come back from a friend’s house, we came home when it started getting dark. We played outside, and some of us didn’t have a choice, but play outside after breakfast.

We didn’t have the technology we have now, thank god, a lot of the neighborhood kids would get together and play ball, ride bikes, and get into some mischief.

You didn’t have school shootings. If you were mad at someone you settled it with a fistfight off the school grounds. If you fought on school grounds and were caught you would get paddled in the principal’s office.

But times have changed so much with the new technology, it is like many kids today don’t like to take the time to play outside. they stay in the house and play games on the PlayStation, X-Box, or their computers.

When we had our phone in the house it was a landline. it was hung on the wall or on a table, we didn’t have caller ID to see who was calling. You couldn’t leave a message you had to call back. We could make calls and play pranks and they would not know who was doing it. They even had a phone number to call if you need to know the time.

I do like that you can have your phone with you when you need it, that is a plus because they come in handy when you have an unexpected emergency on the road.

It has many uses like taking pictures, tells time, has a calendar and calculator. It has helped us in this way. But it also has opened big gaps in many ways all around the world. It has opened communication to talk to the masses. but has silenced the communication where it is very important to have, family.

It has brought us closer to strangers on the other side of the world but is making us strangers to our loved ones. It has also silenced our children who once had a landline to call for help. If that child does not have a phone of his own to use, how can he or she ask for help now that he doesn’t even have a teacher to confined in because they don’t go to school at this time but are taught at home by a computer?

There are even times that the parents are so concentrated on their phones they don’t even notice that they are putting their child in danger by having their eyes stuck staring at the phone. One father took his child to the park and was just looking at his phone and someone started walking away with his child. The person that was filming this told him to get off his phone and pay attention, “if I was a bad person your child would be gone and you would never see him again.”

In another situation, a couple was so busy looking at there phones they didn’t notice a car backing out of his parking space and was about to run over the baby carriage when a man runs and pushes the carriage out of the way, grabs the father and mothers phones and slams them both on the ground and tells them to watch their baby and walks away.

Now my question to you all is this,

Should we celebrate or confiscate the cell phone?

Saying Thank You to Your Body

We all say “thank you” to someone for helping us carry a bag of groceries, cleaning, or cooking. We thank God for a new day in our life, which is very important. But have you taken the time to say thank you to your body? For what it does every day for you?

There is nothing wrong with saying thank you to your body. It just shows you love yourself and are thankful that you are healthy.

Talking to your body is not unlike talking to your plants, they love to hear that you love them. So, it is the same way with your body.

What you think of yourself can be very powerful and can make you happy with what you have, or what you see that is being positive.

Now, if something is wrong with you and you think everyone sees it, that is a negative thought. Nobody can see the things that you think are wrong with you unless you point this out.

This is what I hate and I would like to see it change.

For instance, a woman might not be happy because she has small breasts. or a man says he has skinny arms, or as we all say, we feel bad about losing our hair.

Sometimes, when we try to fix ourselves it comes out good, but there have been some people that wish they had been happy the way they looked because the plastic surgeon messed up, and you can see the results of what went wrong.

Or you spend a lifetime hating the way you look and look back when you are older and say “What the hell was I thinking? I was gorgeous” or “I was really Handsome.”

Many times it could be that the person who says you are ugly is just being jealous of your beauty. There are plenty of women out there that would say something like that to tear you down. Or the man you are with starts to tear you down so you get low self-esteem. People like that don’t even like themselves and are toxic to the environment around them.

Remember you are a child of God. He loves you always and wants the best for you! You are beautiful in His eyes.

Lift yourself up and see the beauty you have within you, give thanks to your body for what it does every day!

You have eyes to see, lungs that let you breathe, some of you have trouble but, I have noticed when you thank your body, you actually feel the difference.

You feel better when you speak positively about and to yourself.

Don’t let anyone say anything negative to you. If they start to say something to you, ask them to stop. And if they don’t listen, walk away.

Another thing to do, and this can be hard for some people, is to look in the mirror and say “I Love YOU” and say this every time you see a mirror and mean what you say.

Tell yourself you look beautiful, smile at yourself, believe in yourself. Always see yourself in the eyes of self-love and you will see a big difference in yourself!

So, say thank you to your body for being there for you in every way possible, helping you to fight whatever comes your way.
